The Georges River Environmental Eduction Centre offers:
  • Experiences  that 'connect' particpants with nature that are highly engaging, interactive, planned but flexible and safe
  • Support for schools in curriculum and the environmentally sustainable managment of water, waste, energy and resources
  • Fieldwork along the Georges River from its headwaters to its lower estuary, in bushland, swamps and urban environments
  • Staff development workshops and special environmental events
  • Partnership programs with councils, TAFE, Universities and other agencies to enable student participation in authentic research and environmental action
  • Is located at Chipping Norton alongside the Georges River in facilities provided by Liverpool City Council
  • Is part of a network of Environmental Education Centres of the NSW Department of Education and Communities around the state of NSW
