Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is a new stage 2 program that is offered at GREEC. The program includes a term long teaching unit which allows students to investigate their local environment.

Students from Miller PS and Guise PS were lucky enough to be our trial schools for this new program. Feedback from students and staff participating in the program has been very positive.

Georges RIver EEC and students and teachers from Picnic Point HS joined together to create a native bush garden in their school grounds.

Organising teacher Gabby HP was motivated to create the outdoor learning space after participating in the Cross-Curriculum priorities workshop run at GREEC earlier in the year.

Cross-Curriculum Priorities Teacher Workshop

Teachers participated in a two day workshop focussing on the cross-curriculum areas of Sustainability and Aboriginal Education at GREEC during term 3. The teachers were guided through hands on activitioes that could be easily used in every day teaching practice to address the two cross-curriculum priority areas.

On Friday 24th October three schools from South Western Sydney were fortunate enough to have a student in their class enter a competetion held by ABC Radio Station 702. They won a very special day excursion at Simmos Beach.
